New Ewe

Diversification and an entrepreneurial spirit led Caroline Scott, the name behind ‘NEW EWE’, to discover some amazing facts about the health benefits of sheep’s milk for our skin and well-being. With a passion for sheep that developed over the years rearing lambs and other livestock, Caroline enjoyed working with wool from her sheep and even turned her hand to cheese making when she was asked to join a local enterprise.

Long hours ensued in the dairy with hands repeatedly in and out of milk and washing up water with evenings taken up helping on the farm, often in bitter weather conditions.Surprised that her hands were never in need of special rescue remedies she began to consider more closely what restorative effect the milk she was handling every day might have.

Research revealed that milk, reputedly used by Cleopatra, has in fact been a beauty product for thousands of years, revered for its revitalizing and soothing qualities.Comparing the properties of the different milks available at the farm, it was the ewe’s milk that came out on top for Caroline; naturally homogenized, rich in butter fat and proteins with almost double the amount of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants found in other milks..

Ethically produced from 100% natural ingredients with fragrances to suit both him and her, ‘NEW EWE’ products have been designed, with the ‘NEW YOU’ in mind – caring and nurturing healthy skin for you and your family.  There’s no finer feeling.

Wooden Hill Coffee Company

Robin and Nick tasted a lot of coffee before they finally came upon a blend that they were proud of and happy to share with you! It’s a special blend of Brazilian, Colombian, Costa Rican and Honduran beans.  It is Fairtrade and 100 percent Arabica, carefully hand roasted by Nick to the same degree of perfection time and time again.

You can feel confident choosing a coffee that has been carefully selected, lovingly roasted and packaged in the greenest way possible.

Once roasted, coffee becomes very delicate and therefore needs to be stored in protective packaging. Most people use a foil lined or laminated material that can sit on land fill for many, many years. Wooden Hill spent a long time looking into a solution that fit their ethos, and found Biotre.

Compared to a standard plastic/foil laminate which is made from 100% non-renewable fossil fuels and is not considered biodegradable, Biotre is made from up to 60% by weight of materials that are made from renewable wood pulp and certified to the Industrial Composting norms. Studies in moist, managed home composters have shown a degradation time of 90 days.  The remaining clear polymer makes up 40% of the Biotre package by weight.  It is designed to break down in five to ten years in a landfill environment; much more quickly than typical plastics, thus reducing the solid waste impact of Biotre.

In addition the paper label contains wild flower seeds that you can plant and Wooden Hill plant a tree for every 100kgs of coffee sold!
